Great times with our family

On our last day in Brisbane we spent time at Chris and Jo's new house with all the grandchildren. We had a lovely barbecue lunch, with backyard cricket and good old fashioned hide and seek around the house. We were glad to be able to catch Clay playing soccer with the Stingrays. Here you can see his Dad Jeff with Liz at the soccer field.

We are not used to Jeff arriving by bike! but here it is. Ignore the kangaroo sign!!

You can see Clay here with his kid brother Reilly being held by Ross dad.

Mum always gets to be the one who gets them ready for the 'big game'!

Apparently Phil is wearing his headband upside - but we didn't notice. Here is Chris and Jo with Clay, Phil, Lucy and Kathryn.

We have come full cycle

We thoroughly enjoyed having Teruo Takakuwa and his son Makoto visit with us in Brisbane in August. Here they are with Angela and Mike Brannan - their host family.

A year has passed since we first came to Japan. We have had an annual holiday back in Brisbane. It was a great time to catch up with family and our church friends.
We enjoyed doing sight seeing on the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and around Brisbane. It is truly a beautiful city.

We are thrilled that we have some short term workers coming later this year and into 2009. This is Bec Gater from CCC and she is coming for one month of her Christmas holidays.

Here you can see Tim Duncan at our table with Teruo and Makoto. Tim is planning on spending three months with us from January through to March. We are really looking forward to the many ways in which he will be able to help us.
Our home in Brisbane has been the venue for one of our community teams. we are so pleased that Christian and Mattanja are using the house in this way.
Here are some familiar faces - Richard and Gael Condon took us in for a few weeks while we were in Brisbane and we also spent some time with Ian and Pam Peters.
We arrived back in Japan on Sunday 31st August and are now into the new term and enjoying it very much.
